Results Announced for Weekend OVI Checkpoints in Allen and Hancock Counties

During an OVI checkpoint Saturday night in Allen County, 251 vehicles drove through and were checked. 

According to a release, none of the vehicles that came through the checkpoint were diverted for further investigation. 

Following the checkpoint officers and troopers worked a saturation patrol in and around the city of Lima and Allen County.

No OVI arrests were made during the saturation patrols.

Troopers from the Lima Post participated in the checkpoint.

During an OVI checkpoint Saturday night in Findlay, 752 vehicles drove through and were checked. 

According to a release, none of the vehicles that came through the checkpoint were diverted for further investigation. 

Following the checkpoint officers and troopers worked a saturation patrol in and around the city of Findlay during the saturation patrol 24 traffic stops were made and no one was arrested for OVI.

Officers from the Findlay Police Department, and the University of Findlay Police Department as well as troopers from the Findlay Post participated in the checkpoint.

The purpose of an OVI checkpoint is to increase public awareness of the impaired driving problem and to deter citizens from driving impaired in Hancock County and the City of Findlay.
