Operations:

Bids were approved for Bread/Bakery to Nickles Bakery and Dairy to Dairy Enterprises/Smith Dairy through MEC. A motion was approved to reject the gas and fuel bids as the District will seek quotes from local businesses.

As Ridgemont has done in the past, the Board approved an online calamity day plan. This means if Ridgemont misses five days of school due to inclement weather, the next three days that are missed would be completed online or through “blizzard bags”. Handbooks for the 2019-2020 school year were approved for students/athletes and staff, and the Emergency Operation Plan was also approved. The motions were approved for the purchase of a new bus and a new lawnmower. Membership to the Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy of School funding was approved.

The Board also approved a motion to move forward with a renewal of the .75 % income tax that will be placed on the November 2019 ballot. The renewal is for no new money and is anticipated to generate approximately $493,626 dollars a year for the operations of the district.
