Ridgemont School Board Conducts March Meeting

A certificate was present to Mackenzie Rader who had her glass mosaic entitled “Bovine Beauties” (from a photo she took of her own cows) accepted into the 31st Annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational held at ArtSpace in Lima. Only 88 pieces were selected for exhibit from over 300 submitted. Thank you to Mrs. Marianne Galyk for teaching the students her love of art! Congratulations Kenzie!!

Congratulations to the Musical Crew for the production of Little Mermaid, students, stage crew and directors did an outstanding job displaying the talents of many students. Also, kudos to the art students on their amazing art displays at the Art Show.

The Hardin County Business Advisory Council Annual Report was shared and can be found on the Ridgemont website.

Personnel:

The Board approved the resignation from Mr. Robert Hoover, Interim Treasurer, effective April 7, 2019 and the newly hired District Treasurer, Ms. Melissa Pollom will take over on April 8, 2019. The Board also approved Mr. Hoover to be a consultant as needed for up to 5 days. A time increase was approved for two regular route bus driver, to be adjusted for the 2018-2019 school year. The winter supplemental contracts were non-renewed, as per Ohio law, they are only for one year and the winter season is complete.

Operations:

The 2019-2020 school calendar was approved and will be emailed out on March 29th. Students will start August 15th and the last day for students will be May 21st.

The Board also approved the 260 day employee calendar, a date change for the April Board meeting to April 18, 2019 at 5:00 pm, and approved a resolution for the Third Grade Assessment in ELA assessment paper format for 2019-2020. A fee of $150 was approved for the cost of credit recovery as well as the new floor tile for the Ridgeway Building and field trips.

Donations:

The Ridgemont Board of Education accepted donations and took time to thank the donors listed below for their generosity to the district.

*Frank Galyk-Donation of Pizza for student helpers for art show set up and tear down.

*Josh and Jackie McCarthy-Donation of doors for the Doors I’d Encouragement Art Project the high school art students are participating in.

*The Belly Acre (Tom)-Donation of pizza boxes for 4th-6th grade cell science games.
