The school year is going by fast, we are well into the second grading period and the holidays are upon us. Please see below the calendar for upcoming events and days the school is closed for the holidays.

November 21, 2019 Board of Education Highlights

Thank you to all the supporters who voted for the income tax renewal levy on the November 5th ballot. The .75% income tax levy renewal was approved by the voters in the district. The Ridgemont Board of Education, Administration, Staff, and Students would like to thank the community for their support.

Thank you to Jennifer Musson for being the Treasurer for the Citizens of Ridgemont and Kate Wingfield for being the Campaign Manager. These ladies ordered signs, painted and placed signs, kept the finances in order, created ads, ran the campaign and we thank them for all of their time and dedication to the Ridgemont District.

The 15th Annual Senior Citizen Luncheon will be held on December 5th at noon in the Mt. Victory Building. This luncheon is for all 60 year old and older community members who currently live in the Ridgemont District. Thank you to Kenton Walmart for their continued donation to help us host this event. Call Sandy by November 27th for reservations.

Boy Scout Troop #131 was in attendance to observe a public meeting.

The Veterans Day Celebration was a huge success. Thirty Veterans attended the event that started with breakfast, assembly, and sessions with high school students. Many Veterans and students have commented on the knowledge and stories that were shared that day. Thank you to the Sophomore class for planning and hosting the event. Thank you to all Veterans for their service. We enjoyed spending the day with all the attendees.

Personnel
The motion was approved for all Fall 2019 supplemental contracts being non-renewed. All supplementals are only for one year.

A resignation was approved for Samantha McCullough as Basketball Girls JV Coach for the 2019-2020 school year and she was approved as a volunteer coach. The following supplemental contracts for the 2019-2020 school year were approved, pending certification:

Operations

The contract with OhioHealth was approved for an Athletic Trainer for the 2019-2020 school year.

Kindergarten Screening for the 2020-2021 school year will be held on May 14 and 15, 2020.

A field trip to Belize in June of 2021 was approved. Mrs. Danielle Webber, Spanish Teacher will coordinate the trip. They will visit in Belize, Ambergris Caye, Belize City, and the Cayo Region. The student cost is $3,040.00.

The Treasurer was authorized to advertise for bids for 2020, 2021, and 2022, farm ground rental in Ridgeway.

The next Board of Education meeting will be December 19, 2019, at 5:00 pm in Math Room #304.
