Ridgemont Student Wins Local Poetry Out Loud Competition

Angela Kep, a Cosmetology student from Ridgemont, won the 2020 Poetry Out Loud local competition last month.

She studied, memorized, and recited a poem of her choice. 

After competing against 18 other students at the local level, Kep will compete at the Regional Semi-Finals taking place in Columbus this month. 

Poetry Out Loud encourages students to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. 

The program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.
