Sheriff Talks About Importance of Conducting School Safety Training Exercises

Hardin County sheriff Keith Everhart said it’s important for his office to conduct regular training exercises to help keep county school’s safe.

Just because Hardin County is small, Sheriff Everhart said that doesn’t mean bad things can’t  happen, “I don’t know the minds of 32,000 and change people so we have to plan for things to happen. It’s unfortunate that we live in a world where we need SRO’s (School Resource Officers) and we need to train for active shooters and things of that nature. It’s a very sad world, but that is the world we live in.”
