According to a release from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, at approx. 10:33am yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a resident on Big Bear Path in Lakeview advising them their home had been struck by gun fire.

Upon Deputies arrival they determined the house was struck and suspected the shot came from residence next door.

Deputies attempted to talk with the resident, however they were unable to get anyone to answer the door.

Nearby neighbors were asked to leave their homes for their own safety and Special Response Teams from area law enforcement responded and made numerous attempts to get the resident to come out so they could talk with him.

The subject refused to come out and fired numerous rounds at law enforcement from inside the residence. Return gunfire from Officers injured the subject who eventually exited the residence.

He was taken into custody and was taken by EMS to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

B.C.I. has been contacted to process the scene because of Officer involved shooting.

The name of the suspect is not being released at this time.

The standoff ended at approximately 9:19pm.
