Street Closures as Part of Tree Town Festival Announced

Due to set up and tear down activities at Gormley Park in Forest for the Tree Town Festival, the Forest Police Department reminded residents that no bicycles, skateboards, or dogs (unless properly licensed as a service dog) will be allowed in the park from now through Monday the 15th.  

 

Tree Town Festival starts with a parade this evening. Parade judging is at 6 at the soccer field on West Zimmerman Street.

 

The parade moves out starting at 6:30.

 

The Festival Opening Ceremonies will be held after the parade at Gormley Park Center Entrance on Mary Street.

 

Street closures have been announced during the Tree Town Festival. 

 

According to information from the Forest Police Department:

 

.East Hueston Street, between Warner and Mary Streets, will be closed from 4-11pm July 12 and again from 7-11am July 13.

 

.East Mary Street will be closed to all parking between Lima Street and Daisy Street from 5 pm until after the parade on Friday July 12.

 

.West Dixon Street will be one way to the east from Pickett Street to Martin Street from 5pm until after the parade Friday July 12.

 

.County Road 26 from the village limits to County Road 215 will be closed from around 2pm July 13 until around midnight.

 

The fireworks are scheduled to start at 10:30 Saturday night.
