Pandemic EBT Funds was a temporary federal program that was implemented during the pandemic.
This program provided additional funds for food to children who were already participating in SNAP (food stamps) or who qualified for free or reduced school meals
through the lunch application process. This money was intended to help replace meals that children would normally have received at school but they did not receive because of their illness due to covid-19 or when schools were not open for face-to-face learning.
The past two summers, this benefit has been extended into the summer months to provide additional food money assistance to children after school is out.
Ohio has been approved to extend the P-EBT funds for the summer of 2022.
.These funds are intended for K-12 students who qualify to receive Free or Reduced price
.Each eligible child will receive $390.50 split over two payments.
.The first payment of $191.70 will be issued directly to families by the end of June.
.The second payment of $198.80 will be issued by the end of July.
.If your child already qualifies for free or reduced meals through a lunch application or SNAP program – and you have received a P-EBT card in the past, you do not need to do anything. The payment will be loaded to your current P-EBT or SNAP benefit card.
Newly eligible children will receive a new card at the residence the school had on record in May.
.If you think your child is now eligible for free or reduced meals when they have not been eligible in the past, submit a lunch application by July 31st to receive summer EBT funds by the end of September.
.Contact Regina Comstock, KCS Cafeteria Supervisor at 419-673-0248 with any questions about your child’s eligibility.
.All questions about the P-EBT should be directed to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Resources hotline: 1-866-244-0071
