A Lima man was arrested and faces numerous charges following an incident Thursday evening.

According to a release from Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling east on State Route 309.

The driver is said to have committed a traffic violation, and the deputy attempted a traffic stop.

The suspect fled and ended up ditching the car in a field just inside Allen County.

31 year old Michael Parsons was apprehended and is facing several charges.

Witnesses reported that in addition to the driver, a passenger was in the car and fled the area on foot.

A search of the area involving a helicopter, drone and K-9 unit was conducted but another person was not located, and it was later determined that the driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle.

Parsons was taken to the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion.

He faces charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, improperly handling firearms in a vehicle and tampering with evidence.

The Ada Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Iffice assisted at the scene along with the Lima Police Department and Ohio Highway Patrol.
