Suspect Being Sought by Marion Police After Fatal Shooting Monday Night

A shooting in Marion Monday night claimed the life of a man.

According to a release from the Marion Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of South Seffner Avenue for a reported shooting call.   

Upon their arrival, they found 43-year-old Ricco D. McGhee who had been shot and seriously injured.  He was transported to Marion General Hospital where he died from his injury.

The Marion Police Department, with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, is actively investigating this homicide.   

There has been a warrant issued for seventeen-year-old Ziair E. Green , of Marion, for aggravated murder.  

Green may still be armed and the public should use caution if he is seen.   

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Green, they are encouraged to call 911 and do not try to apprehend him yourself.
