Harvey, Tamara L. “Tammy” 61  Kenton

A celebration of life for Tamara Lou Harvey will be held at a later date followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kenton. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

She died at 3:57 pm, Sunday, June 21, 2020.

Tam was born on September 27, 1958 in Mount Healthy, OH to the late Rev. Gilbert P. and late Nancy L. (Ditzler) Reichert.  Her father was a Methodist minister and Tam was a life-long Methodist.

She married Bradley E. Harvey on September 2, 1984  in Dola, OH and he survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Amanda L.(Humberto Varela Arnoso)Harvey and Jennifer C. Harvey, both of Fontefria, Spain; two sons, Ryan J.(Morgan)Harvey and Dana M. Harvey, both of Kenton, and a precious grandson, Victor Varela Harvey, of Fontefria, Spain.  Also surviving are two brothers, Timothy L.(Charlotte)Reichert of Johnstown, OH and Terry L.(Annette)Reichert of Newark, OH., an uncle, Robert Reichert Sr. of Ickesburg, PA, several nieces and nephews, and more cousins than she could count.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas L.(Debora)Reichert of Wellston, OH and her dearest friend and partner-in-crime, Ruth Miller of De Graff, OH.

As a minister’s daughter, Tammy grew up in several cities around Ohio including Toledo, Groveport, Marion, and Kettering where she graduated from Fairmont West High School in 1976.

She earned a BA from Ohio Northern University in 1981 and worked as a special education teacher at Harco Industries, Simon Kenton School and Riverdale Elementary.

Tam had a joyous sense of humor that never waned despite struggling with chronic pain.  She wrote wacky songs, loved pranks and shared sage, philosophical Facebook posts early every morning.

She adored her children and grandson and loved and tolerated a husband who tried like mad to never crack a smile at her shenanigans. Sometimes he failed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harco Industries or The Benefit of Ashley Heberling’s Children c/o Home Savings and Loan Co.

Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
