An accident at the intersection of Detroit and Ohio Streets in Kenton occurred Friday afternoon.
According to the Kenton Police Department report, 72-year-old Judith Valerio, of Mt. Victory, drove onto Detroit from the red blinking lights on Ohio, and her car struck a southbound pickup being operated by 30-year-old Krystopher Piontek, of Farmington, Michigan.
Functional damage occurred to both vehicles.
There were no injuries.
Valerio was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
The August 16 accident is the third one at the intersection since the Ohio Department of Transportation began a study to remove the traffic lights at the intersection on July 29. The first one was on the first day of the study, Monday July 29, and the next one was on Monday August 12.
Currently, the lights are flashing yellow for caution on Detroit, and they are flashing red for stop on Ohio.
The study is also being conducted at the intersection of Detroit and Carrol Streets.
