Two Arrested After Incident in Union County Thursday Morning

The Union County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene this morning where two individuals ran from deputies from a stolen vehicle out of Springfield.

The individuals ran into the woods between the areas of Woodstock and Lincoln Road south of Middleburg Plain City Road.

The individuals were located in the woods with the assistance of the Union County K-9, and the Sheriff’s Office issued a statement at around 10 this morning indicating that the situation has been contained.

A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, which was stolen from a residence in Springfield. It was recovered at the scene.

Arrested were:

.36 year old Clifton E. Ferguson, of Mechanicsburg on multiple outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants from Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties.

He has been charged with obstructing official business,

.32 year old John J. Potts, of Springfield for outstanding warrants from Clark County.

He has been charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.

The incident remains under investigation.
