Two Findlay men were arrested following a pursuit that started just before midnight Thursday.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Lowe’s on Bright Road to investigate a possible stolen vehicle out of Toledo.

A vehicle that matched the description was seen leaving Menard’s and when the officer initiated a traffic stop, the driver sped away.

The stolen car travelled east on U.S. 224 when the driver lost control after attempting to turn north onto Township Road 215 and ended up in a field.

The fleeing vehicle traveled through several fields and yards before stopping in a wooded area. That’s when the driver and a passenger fled on foot.

Officers were able to apprehend the driver following a short foot pursuit.

The passenger was located later hiding in a pine tree. He was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital for exposure injuries due to the extreme cold temperature.

Matthew Holman and Victor Vawter, both 41, were identified as the suspects and are facing various charges.
