Marion police arrested two Marion residents in connection to a weekend shooting in Marion this past weekend.
According to a release, 20 year old Mickayla Edwards was arrested on a charge of felonious assault and 19 year old Cali Parish is facing a charge of complicity to felonious assault.
Each was taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center.
The shooting occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Fahey Street where a 19 year old female had been shot in the torso.
She was transported to Marion General Hospital by Marion City Fire Department Squad and later transferred by helicopter to Grant Hospital.
Her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.
“The rash of gun violence that Marion is experiencing is extremely worrisome to the police department and to the community. These incredibly violent incidents are becoming more and more common, but the Marion Police Department is committed to bringing those who resort to gun violence to justice” said Marion Police Major Jay McDonald.
