Two Columbus Residents Killed in Marion County Crash Thursday

A man and woman from Columbus were killed in a one vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on U.S. 23 in Marion County.

According to a release from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Patrok, 42 year old Matthew E. Dildine and 26 year old Melissa L. Dingess were passengers in a car being driven by 28 year old Joshua S. Dingess, also of Columbus.

Dingess lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on 23.

The car went off the right side of the road where it struck a tree and overturned and came to rest in a drainage ditch.

Melissa Dingess was ejected and was transported to Marion General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Dildine was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
