Two Fatal Crashes Occur in Hardin County in Past 24 Hours

A 17 year old Dunkirk boy is among two people killed in separate traffic accidents in the past 24 hours in Hardin County.

 

According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, a crash occurred early this morning in the 10,000 block of County Road 30 near Dola.

 

The 17 year old driver lost control of the car while driving east on 30. The car ended up off the north side of the road where it struck a tree.

 

The driver was pronounced dead by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office at the scene. 

 

His identity has not yet been released.

 

A Kenton man died in a head on crash that occurred around 12:30 Thursday afternoon on County Road 75 just south of State Route 67 in McDonald Township.

 

56 year old Joseph R. Moore drove left of center while travelling south on 75.

 

His vehicle struck a northbound truck and trailer being operated by 68 year old Keith Elsasser, of Kenton.

 

Moore was killed in the crash. Elsasser was not injured.

 

Both crashes remain under investigation.
