Two hand grenades and a military style smoke grenade were found in a residence in Findlay late Tuesday morning.

According to a release, the items were found by a construction crew doing work at 401 Washington Street in the city.

The residence was not occupied, and it had been used as a staging area for several construction companies in the past, but no ownership can be determined at this time.

The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad out from Toledo responded to the scene and determined that the two hand grenades were likely inert training munitions.

They determined the smoke grenade was likely functional.

The munitions were collected for destruction, and no other dangerous ordinance was located on the property.
