A car got stranded in high water early Sunday morning, and the two occupants had to be rescued.

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at just past midnight to the 100 block of Silver Street where the car stalled in around three to four feet of water.

Firefighters made it to the vehicle and helped the occupants make it to dry land.

With more rain in the forecast, the Fire Department is reminding motorists not to drive into water covering the roadway since you don’t know how deep the water is in any given area.

Firefighters say it is best to follow the advice of turn around don’t drown.
