UF Presents “Medicaid Planning in 2021: Rules, Strategies, and Pitfalls”

University of Findlay, in collaboration with the Planned Giving Council, will host a two-credit hour Continuing Education unit Thursday, Oct. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. This year’s event, “Medicaid Planning in 2021: Rules, Strategies, and Pitfalls,” will be hosted virtually via Zoom.

The event is geared towards local financial planners, estate attorneys, insurance professionals, and CPAs and will cover a variety of topics including:

.Ethics in Medicaid Planning

.Considerations for Clients Potentially Facing Long-Term Care

.Medicaid Qualification Rules and Requirements

.Early/Proactive Planning Strategies

.Crisis Planning Strategies

.Common Pitfalls to Avoid

Guest speaker Chad Huber, partner at Eastman & Smith, Ltd. in the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Practice Group, has professional experience in the areas of elder law and Medicaid planning, estate planning, estate administration, special needs planning, business organization and succession planning, and real estate, and serves clients over a wide geographical area. As a native of Northwest Ohio, Huber frequently collaborates with local attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to provide the best service to mutual clients.

Huber is a 2003 graduate of Bowling Green State University, and received his J.D. and MBA in 2007 from the University of Toledo. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
