University Club II Announces Scholarship Recipients

Shelby Alloway

Shelby Alloway has been awarded one of two scholarships for 2021 from the University Club II of Hardin County. She is the daughter of Matthew and Jennifer Alloway and a 2018 graduate of Hardin Northern High School. Shelby will graduate in May, 2021 from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Health Sciences.

Shelby has been accepted to Ohio University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program and ultimately wants to work in an outpatient setting. In her application Shelby stated, “I would love to be one of the many physical therapists in this country who, on an everyday basis, are helping these patients feel themselves again or at least make their everyday lives bearable.

While attending California University of PA, Shelby worked at the Recreation and Fitness Center of the school and Applebee’s in Findlay, all while playing volleyball and making the Academic and Athletic Dean’s List every semester.

Zachery Collins

Zachery Collins has been awarded on of two scholarships from the University Club II of Hardin County for 2021. Zachery is currently a junior attending Bowling Green State University and is a 2018 graduate of Kenton High School. He is the son of Rick and Katrina Collins of Kenton.

Zachery is majoring in Middle Childhood Education with an emphasis in Math/Social Studies. In his application Zachery stated, “I want to discover ways to make education more engaging for the students. I want to teach in 6th or 7th grade because of personal experience.”

He is currently working as a Resident Advisor (RA) at BGSU, has also worked at the Hi Road Drive In and is a member of the E-Sports Team and Gaming Society. Zachery has also been on the Dean’s list.
