The University of Findlay will be hosting its 15th annual Spring Horse Sale on Saturday, April 27, at the University Western Farm’s Dale Wilkinson Arena, 14700 Ohio 68, south of Findlay.

Demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m., and the sale will start at noon.

The annual sale follows the Clark Bradley Pleasure Futurity, to be held on Friday, April 26 at 12:30 a.m. where the program’s seniors will take their 2-year-old futurity prospects through a western pleasure class. Many of these 2-year-olds will then be presented in the sale and are sired by high-caliber horses such as Extremely Hot Chips and Lazy Loper.

Organized by the University’s equine marketing class, the annual Spring Horse Sale features approximately 60 horses, including western pleasure and all-around prospects, as well as reining, hunter under saddle, western riding, trail, ranch riding, and quiet lesson/4-H horses.

Throughout the school year, the equestrian students spend countless hours at the University’s facility training and caring for the many horses included in the sale.

Sale proceeds will go towards scholarships and the purchase of new prospects for students to work with during the coming year. The 2018 sale provided $40,000 for equine scholarships.
