An update on the new Kenton Middle School and High School building was given at the Kenton City Schools Board of Education meeting Monday evening.
Jason Fleming, from Garmann Miller, told Board members about construction work taking place over the next month, “You’ll start seeing structural steel taking place wing along the classroom wing, and they’re going to work from west to east, what we refer to as A, B and C, the classroom wing. You’ll see structural steel roof and decking, and then the roofing will follow that as well. That probably, you’ll see that roofing starting on the west side of that classroom wing probably within three weeks maybe four at the most, so it will be right close to your next board meeting.”
Fleming stated that the project is right on schedule. The building is set to open for students and staff in late fall of 2025.
Also at the meeting, the Board approved an addendum to the contract for Treasurer Jill Smith as well as a list of routine personnel items.
The next meeting will take place on August 19th.
