Upper Scioto Valley School District recently congratulated two choir students who were selected to be in the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir.
Brenna Dyer and Rhiannon Risner will perform with the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir multiple times each day for the duration of the Ohio State Fair. Members of the Youth Choir can march up to ten miles a day during the week.
The All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir was founded in 1963 by Glenville D. Thomas. Each spring, members of the choir are selected based on their experience and ability and at the recommendation of their high school choral director.
The students start practicing five days before the opening of the Ohio State Fair with an intense schedule that includes vocal training, rehearsals, solo auditions and marching instructions.
