The Kenton City Schools Athletic Department and the Kenton Athletic Boosters announced Wildcats LIVE, an audio livestream exclusively covering Kenton Wildcat Athletics.
Chad Thrush, Superintendent of Kenton City Schools stated that students will eventually be responsible for helping to cover athletics and produce components of the broadcasts.
They will feature familiar commentators, including longtime Voice of the Wildcats Jim Homan, and listeners will hear several other sports personalities on Wildcats LIVE including Mike Styer, and more.
WKTN, which was told about this partnership and fully supported it, has known the equipment was available to the school for several years.
If students can get involved it helps the communication industry as a whole.
WKTN informed Superintendent Thrush they would even help pay the announcers coming on board but were told the boosters had it covered.
The station plans to support this project moving forward.
The Wildcat Live Network is set to officially launch this Friday August 30 with the first live broadcast featuring the Kenton Wildcats as they take on the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans at Titan Stadium.
