Woman Arrested in Findlay After Pursuit in that City

A Findlay woman was arrested after a pursuit with Findlay Police officers Thursday evening.

According to a release, an officer witnessed a vehicle traveling south on Blanchard Street fail to stop for a stop sign at Blanchard Avenue.

When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated and reached speeds of up to 60 miles an hour in town.

After a mile and a half, the driver stopped, exited the vehicle, and began yelling at the officer.

After she took several steps toward the officer and attempted to get back in her car, she was tased and taken into custody without further incident.

Natalie Strahm is being held in the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of obstructing official business and failure to comply with the order or signal of a peace officer.

On 11/9/23 at 1814 hrs. officer witnessed a vehicle travel southbound on S. Blanchard St. at Blanchard Ave., through the stop sign without stopping. Officer attempted to perform traffic stop on vehicle, activating overhead lights and siren at S. Blanchard St. at Second St. The vehicle continued southbound on S. Blanchard St. without stopping for patrol vehicle. The vehicle reached speeds of 60 mph as it continued on S. Blanchard St. The vehicle then turned right (westbound) onto Sixth St., running the red light at that intersection, going left of center once. The vehicle accelerated on Sixth St. up to 70 mph until it reached S. Main St. The vehicle turned right (northbound) onto S. Main St., running a red light at that intersection. The vehicle again went left of center as it turned onto S. Main St. The vehicle accelerated up to 50 mph going northbound on S. Main St. The vehicle then turned left (westbound) onto Locust St. and accelerated to about 30 mph. The vehicle traveled westbound through the stop sign at the intersection with S. West St. at about 10 mph without stopping. The vehicle continued westbound and came to a stop at the intersection with Liberty St.

The driver exited the vehicle and began yelling at officer and did not follow commands to turn around. She took several steps toward officer before trying to get back into vehicle. Officer tased driver and took her into custody without further incident.

The total length of the pursuit was 1.5 miles.

There were no injuries or vehicles struck during the pursuit. The driver was taken to the Hancock County Justice Center where she was held on charges of Fail to Comply with Lawful Order 2921.331 (F3) and Obstruction of Official Business 525.07 (M2).

The suspect driver is a Natalie Strahm of Findlay, Ohio.
