The Hardin County Commissioners on Thursday signed a purchase agreement for the former Oaklief School building on Carrol Street in Kenton.

The money to purchase the building comes from money that Clerk of Court Stephanie Epling’s office secured.

The commissioners approved the purchase for $150,000.

$5000 in earnest will be paid immediately.

The county anticipates taking possession of the 12,000 square foot building in July of 2026.

The building is currently being used as the Administration Building for the Kenton City Schools, which will move to a renovated “A” building at the Kenton High School once the new Middle and High Building opens later this year.
