
Funeral services for Vondale Lucille (Willeke) McNeal will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory. Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery. Friends and family may visit 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Vondale passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at The Springs of Lima. She was born on March 28, 1932, in LaRue, Ohio to the late John Orville and Opal Mae Maree (Hess) Willeke. On February 6, 1955, she married Dennis McNeal, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2015.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathryn Maree (Stephen) Ogden of AL; and Ellen Sue (Don) Sheldon of Kenton; 5 grandchildren, Samuel Eugene (Chloe) Ogden of Clemson, S.C.; Erin Lenae (Jay) Farmer of Dublin; Joshua Miles Sheldon of Lima; Alea Hope (Tylor) Berry of Clintonville; and Kyra Opal (Sean) Varga, great-grandchildren, Lincoln Eugene Ogden, Sean David Varga, Edward Michael Varga, Jennifer Christine Varga, Lionel James Varga, a sister, Norman Jean Madis of Medina, a sister-in-law, Mary Lou McNeal of Kenton, a brother-in-law, Norman Gillfillian of Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Hiller.
Vondale graduated from Bowling Green State University with an associate’s degree in business. She worked as an Executive Secretary for The Ohio Power. She also worked as a librarian in Mount Victory and Ridgeway for many years.
She was very active in her community, serving as the Hale Township Clerk, working voting polls, a 4-H advisor and taught Sunday School. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kenton.
Vondale was very creative. She was a very talented seamstress that enjoyed crafting and taking care of her garden.
Memorial donations in Vondale’s honor may be made to the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kenton or The Springs of Lima. Please include Vondale’s name on the memo line.
