Steven E. Cannode Jr., age 53 of Kenton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born in Kenton, Ohio on June 8, 1972, to Steven E. Sr. and Theresa (Smith) Cannode and they survive.

Left to cherish his memory include children: Wanda (Chase) Tomak of Glouster; Tabitha Whitaker of Marion; Bailey (Caleb) Halsey of Findlay; Brooklyn (Tyler) Wies of Dola; Sara Jean “Blondie” (Trent) Reichelderfer of Kenton; sister: Stephanie Cannode of Kenton; grandchildren: Ellieana and Tommie; Leland and Laylyn; Blake and Emma; Kyson; Kannon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by aunts: Norma Chatfield and Patricia Wood; uncles: David Cannode and Bill Howe Sr.; and best friend: Dave “Hillman” Roberts.

After graduating from Kenton High School, Steven worked as a mechanic for many years. He was a member of the Eagles Post 2163, Moose Lodge 428, and Sons of AmVets Post 1994. Steven lived life to the fullest and enjoyed many hobbies including boating, hunting, working on cars, drag racing, and fishing for perch and walleye on Lake Erie.

He often went off roading and mudding with his side-by-side and rode his motorcycle with his friends. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He could always be found working in his garage and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  

A visitation and celebration of Steven’s life will be held from 5-8pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton.
