Kenton Wildcats to Celebrate New Middle/High School with Grand Opening Celebration

Kenton, OH – Kenton Middle/High School construction progress is on time and under budget. The community is invited to a Grand Opening celebration on Sunday, November 16th, 2025. A dedication ceremony will be held at 2:30.

The dedication ceremony will feature a welcome by the combined Kenton Middle School & Kenton High School cheerleaders, speakers, performances by the combined Kenton Middle School & Kenton High School Bands and Choirs, a presentation of the colors by the High School JROTC. Tours by Kenton High School Ambassadors will follow the ceremony until 5:30pm.

“It’s an exciting time to be a Wildcat,” said Chad Thrush, Kenton City Schools Superintendent. “Kenton Middle/High School is going to be an incredible asset for our community for generations to come. We’re very excited to show it off to the community.”

Moving Timeline

November 16, 2025 – Grand Opening & Community Tours 2:30 – 5:30pm
November 20, 2025 – Kenton Elementary School as scheduled. Kenton Middle/High School last day
for students.
November 21, 2025 – Kenton Elementary School as scheduled. Kenton Middle/High School staff only.
November 22, 2025 – National Guard Unloads
November 24-28, 2025 – Thanksgiving Break
December 1, 2025 – Kenton Elementary School as scheduled, Kenton Middle/High School staff only.
December 2, 2025 – Students first day at Kenton Middle/High School.
