
The Kenton Fire Department was dispatched to Hardin Crest Apartments Sunday evening for what turned out to be a minor kitchen fire.
According to information from the department, firefighters were dispatched at around 6:45pm after a smoke alarm was activated in the building.
Light smoke was present on the second floor, and residents were evacuated.
Firefighters traced the source of the smoke to a second-floor apartment where food had caught fire on the stove.
After the building was ventilated, the residents were allowed back into their apartments.
