Carol Elliott Burrey, 83, of Mt. Victory, Ohio, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2025, with her daughters nearby.
Carol was born on December 30, 1941, in Kenton, Ohio, to Frances and Edward Elliott. She grew up in Mt. Victory, where she attended school and met Roger, the man who would later become her husband. She went on to study Home Economics at The Ohio State University and began her teaching career in 1964.
Carol dedicated herself to her students far beyond the classroom, spending countless hours preparing them for FHA/FCCLA events taking many of them on to compete at the national level. Her guidance and encouragement gave them the confidence to compete and excel, and many carried those lessons with them long after graduation.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Burrey, and her brother, Ed Elliott. She is survived by her two daughters, Erin Lind (Alex) and Kristen Banks (Trace), and by her five cherished grandchildren—Elliott Banks, Evan Lind, Cason Banks, Avery Lind, and Owen Lind—all of whom live in the Carolinas. She is also survived by her sisters, Joan Wagner, Lynn Shuster (Michael), and Constance Ulrich (George), as well as her sister-in-law, Rosalie Elliott; sister-in-law Susan Fout (Peter), brother-in-law Jerry Burrey (Karen) and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She will be remembered for her kindness and the warm smile she always shared with those around her.
Visitation hours will be held Friday, August 29th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory, Ohio. A private burial of cremains will take place at Hale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to God’s Lifeline in Mt Victory, OH, Carolina Breast Friends (crm.bloomerang.co), or the Elliott Family Scholarship at the Mt. Victory State Bank.
