Due to Chronic Wasting Disease in the deer population, the Disease Surveillance Area, or DSA, has expanded from last year.
Archery Season within the DSA starts September 13, and Ryan Kennedy, Wildlife Officer from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Division, talks about the expanded DSA, “Now it includes again all of Hardin, that has not changed, all of Marion and all of Wyandot, that’s the same from last year. What has been added, and we’ll start with Allen County, is four townships, and those are Bath, Monroe, Perry and Richland. Hancock has added Delaware and Madison Townships, and then in Union County, two townships; Clairborne and Jackson. That has been expanded from the result of positive CWD cases that were found during last hunting season.”
