
Samuel James Karr Mendenhall, 18 of Kenton passed away unexpectedly from a tragic accident on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
He was born in Lima, Ohio on July 3, 2007, to Senyca Mendenhall and Jamie Wynegar. He is survived by his father, Senyca (Autumn) Mendenhall of Kenton, mother, Jamie (Dennis Jacques) Wynegar, sisters; Susan McElroy, Danielle Roziar, Mary Rozier, Mandy Deshazo, Shelby Tillman and brothers Alexander Deshazo and Aarin Tillman.
Sam is also survived by his paternal grandparents; Donato Rangel of Texas, Melody Robinson of Kenton, maternal grandparents, Mema Karen Wynegar, aunts and uncles; Tristan Mendenhall, China Knerr, Michael Robinson, Wendy Cline, Rebecca Wynegar and cousin, Zayah Knerr.
Sam was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Duane Robinson, paternal great-grandparents, Ellisie and Richard Mendenhall, Sr, maternal grandfather, Papa Dave Wynegar, maternal great-grandparents Bill and Peg Wynegar and Juanita and Albert Manns.
He was also preceded in death by great aunts, Rebecca Mendenhall, Carla Mendenhall Oman and Debra Mendehnall-Davis.
Sam was a 2025 graduate of Kenton High School.
He loved animals, especially his dog, Hunter. He also enjoyed playing video games and hanging around his younger cousins Blayne and Carter. He loved to tinker and take things apart to see how they worked.
A visitation for Sam will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 22, 2025, at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Samuel to the Hardin County Humane Society.
