Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Intl., a women’s educational society, met at Upper Sandusky’s Cheers 2U for a luncheon holiday meeting on December 4 at 1 p.m. Ten members were greeted by Pres. Sandy Berry. Before the delicious lunch began, Berry offered a prayer and thanked the staff and committee of Shirley Spitler, Patti Palmer, Jean Kearns, and Ruth Ann Poling for the lovely arrangements.
Following the lunch, Berry conducted a short meeting. She thanked all for the support. She passed cards for all to sign for those members who were ill. Sec. Teresa Harris had sent her report digitally and it was accepted. Treas. Elaine Hoover had her report filed for audit. She also distributed the pin fine/good news bag. Hoover asked for guidance from the group as to staying with the present bank or to change banks. It was decided to stay with the present bank. Berry reminded all members of those with December birthdays. She also reminded the attendees to ask any prospective members to come to the future meetings.
Palmer gave some destination ideas for this holiday season for those who wanted new experiences. There are some museums and events between Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Having no other news, Berry reminded that the next meeting is on March 14, 2026, at the Kenton Elks. It will be at noon. The speaker will be Carol McKinley who will speak about fairy gardens. RSVP will be needed by March 7 to help the Elks prepare the food. The committee is Shirley Spitler, Donna Myers, and Teresa Harris.
The group finished the meeting by playing several games of Bingo. All were wished safe travels and a joyous Christmas and Happy New Year.
