
Duane Dirmeyer, age 70 passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 6, 1955, to the late Lauren and Dorthy (Eibling) Dirmeyer of Dola. Duane married Penny Battles on August 4, 1990, and she survives in Dola.
Also surviving are his sons, Nathan (Wendy) Dirmeyer of Dola, Matthew (Lauren) Dirmeyer of Dola, brother, David (Chris) Dirmeyer of Sarasota, Florida, 2 nephews; Devin (Lauren) Dirmeyer of Sarasota, Florida, and Drew (Felicia) Dirmeyer of Sarasota Florida.
Duane was a OSU Alumni from the Woody Hayes era.
He was a farmer from the age of 4 helping his dad drive the grain truck down the field to farming his own fields. Duane also served as a Washington Township Trustee for many years.
Duane was very proud of his sons and was a loving father and husband.
A graveside service for Duane will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Dola Cemetery with Pastor Gregg King officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorial donations in Duane’s honor may be made to Bridgeport Church.
