CLEVELAND – Felony drug charges were filed against an individual from Richmond Heights following a traffic stop in Mahoning County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 3,000 grams of cocaine worth approximately $81,000.
On January 21, at approximately 1:37 p.m., troopers stopped a 2014 Cadillac SRX with Pennsylvania registration for a defect violation on Interstate 80. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed the contraband.
The passenger, Randy Cottingham, 55, Richmond Heights, was incarcerated at the Mahoning County Jail and charged with possession of drugs and trafficking drugs, both first-degree felonies.
