Robert P Parsell
December 22, 1963 – February 15, 2026

Robert Paul “Bob” Parsell, of Forest, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 15, 2026, at Marion General Hospital.

He was born on December 22, 1963, in Kenton, Ohio, to Gene Edwin and Carole Kay (Bowman) Parsell. Bob married Becky Sampson, who survives in Upper Sandusky.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Becky Parsell of Upper Sandusky; his mother, Carole Parsell; his niece, ShiAnn (Chris) Peterson of Kenton; his nephew, William Wesley “Wes” (Laurie) Drennen of Tennessee; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his 3 beloved dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Edwin Parsell, and his sister, Debra Jean Parsell, surviving is Bill Drennen, Kenton.

A graduate of Riverdale High School, Bob was a dedicated athlete, participating in baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, and golf during his school years.

His love for sports continued throughout his life. He served as an assistant wrestling coach for Riverdale and was a high school-level umpire for baseball and softball. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.

Bob was a proud United States Navy veteran and a member of Forest United Methodist Church.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his community, his passion for athletics, and his unwavering support of family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hueston Cemetery in Forest, with Pastor Christopher Thacker officiating.

Full military rites will be conducted by VFW Post #1182 and American Legion Post #259, both of Forest, and AMVETS Post 1994 of Kenton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Parsell Memorial Fund or to Hardin County Veterans in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home, 301 S. Patterson St., Forest, OH 45843.

Bob’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.of all who knew and loved him.
