Charles Edward Cain
June 26, 1958 – March 7, 2026

Charles Edward Cain, 67, of Kenton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Charles “Charlie” was born on June 26, 1958, in Kenton, Ohio to Melvin Arthur and Margaret Rose (Richardson) Cain. Surviving are two brothers: Melvin “Rick” (Nancy) Cain, Findlay, OH; and Dennis E. (Sue) Cain, Arlington, OH, and two sisters: Lisa (Mark) R. Mitchell, Bellefontaine, OH; and Melanie (Rod) A. Woodworth, Ovid, MI.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James A. Cain.

Remaining to cherish Charlie’s memory are three children: Carrie J. Cain (Adam Greene); Forest, OH., Charles E. Cain II (Kali Price); Forest, OH, and Christopher J. (Brook) Cain; Kenton, OH. Nine grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Sade Yinger, Mason, Arthur, Alice, Anna, Axel, Ryker, Aengus, and Bodhi Cain; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Charlie’s loyal companion, Buckeye, a miniature pinscher, was always by his side- even in his final moments.

He graduated from Riverdale High School in 1977, where he ran track and field, and played football for the Falcons. Charles married Kathleen A. Cain (Cupp) in 1976, and they later divorced. Kathleen survives in Forest, Ohio. Charlie spent numerous years with employer UAP, located in Forest, Ohio. More recently, he was employed with Durez Corporation in Kenton, Ohio, where he ultimately retired.

Charlie was full of life and never knew a stranger. He was always willing to play a game of pool or join a game of Euchre. No matter the circumstances life threw his way, Charlie remained independent and headstrong through it all. It’s these great memories that his family and loved ones wish to cherish and remember him by.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 from 4-8pm at Clark Shields Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at a later date in Hueston Cemetery.
