Virginia I. Lawrence
August 9, 1936 – March 12, 2026

Virginia “Ginny” Lawrence, age 89, of Forest, Ohio, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky. She was born on August 9, 1936, in Mount Blanchard, Ohio, to the late Thomas O. and Ruth M. (Cole) Jolliff. Ginny married William T. Lawrence on June 12, 1954, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1985.

She is survived by her daughter, Darla (Gary) McMillian of Hastings, Michigan; two grandchildren, William and Bryan McMillian; a sister, Bessie Tracy of Forest; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Jolliff, and a sister, Alice Brown.

Ginny graduated from Forest High School with the Class of 1954. She and her husband were the owner-operators of Lawrence Hardware in Forest. Over the years, she also worked at United Aircraft Products and Hi-San.

Ginny enjoyed her animals, especially her dogs and cats, and treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Browns.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 11:15 a.m. at Houston Cemetery, Forest. Visitation will be held that same morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Clark Shields Funeral Home in Forest.

In honor of Ginny’s love for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the family encourages everyone to wear their favorite Buckeye apparel, or attire representing any other sports team of their choice.
