
The Ridgemont Schools Board of Education met Wednesday evening.
Superintendent Brian Hogan stated that the Ridgemont Quiz Bowl team will be competing at the National Quiz Bowl Tournament in Chicago, Illinois April 11 through the 13.
The students are Olivia Newland, Jakob Wallace, Maverick Dawson, and Hayden Williamson.
Also, Hogan said the Ridgemont FFA State Agriscience Fair members, who are in the Top 4 in Ohio, will be on the stage at the 2026 State FFA Convention on May 1 and 2.
In personnel items, two-year contracts were approved for Robert Ball- Transportation Supervisor, Jordane Dues- School Comprehensive Counselor, Isaac Houser- Maintenance Supervisor, Myles Moore- School Psychologist, Tom Mustain- Technology Coordinator, and Mary Penhorwood- School Nurse.
One-year contracts were approved for Tana Mull- Elementary Principal, Brooke Stannard- Elementary Comprehensive Counselor, and Hannah Noble- School Therapist.
Abby Foss was also hired as the 3rd Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher.
The Board thanked retiring staff members, Third Grade Teacher Lisa Oberlitner after 35 years and Bus Driver Christina Payne after 14 years.
It was announced that the last day of school is Thursday, May 14, and there will be a 2 Hour Early Dismissal.
The Class of 2026 list of graduates was approved at the board meeting, and the Graduation Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 17 starting at 2pm in the Mt. Victory Gymnasium.
The next regular Board Meeting will be held May 13.
