Obituary for Richard N. “Dick” Jones

Richard N. “Dick” Jones, 90 of Kenton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Kenton on May 13, 1935 to the late Carl M. and Floy H. (Davis) Jones.

On June 5, 1960, Dick married Janet Terrill and she survives along with a son, Todd (Cathy) Jones and daughter, Lynn Jones Webb both of Kenton. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Zach (Nicole) Webb, Terrill (Colten) Royer, Logan Jones, Conner (Addy Bame) Jones and five great-grandchildren; Reese Gordon, Collins Royer, Hudsyn Royer, Carson Webb and Lincoln Jones.

He was preceded in death by three sisters; Helen Cushing, Patricia Kidd and Eleanor Ehlen. Dick retired from Kenton City School after many years of service where he was a teacher, guidance counselor, assistant principal, principal and basketball coach. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church, Kenton.

Following retirement, Dick served several terms on Kenton City Council. He was an avid golfer and loved his family dearly.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Dick to the Kenton Community Foundation or Revitalize Kenton.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
