Ada, Ohio, April 2026 — Ada Exempted Village Schools will begin using a new communication platform, ParentSquare, to make it easier for schools to connect with families. This platform will be used to share updates from classrooms, groups, clubs, athletics, and the district. ParentSquare will replace Remind and will be fully in place by July 2026, just in time for the 2026–2027 school year.

The district’s goal is to improve how families receive information by making it more clear, timely, and easy to access. ParentSquare allows messages to be automatically translated into families’ preferred languages. Families can also choose how they want to receive updates, including email, app notifications, voice, or text messages. In addition, families have the option to subscribe or unsubscribe from specific classes, groups, and types of content, so they receive the information that matters most to them. This helps make sure all families can stay informed and involved.

All Ada Schools parents and families will receive an invitation to join ParentSquare in August 2026. Because ParentSquare connects directly to the district’s student information system, ProgressBook, invitations will be sent to the contacts already listed for each student. In addition, the district will share a community sign-up option so that non-student guardians and community members can also stay connected.

The new system will also make things easier for staff. ParentSquare connects directly with the district’s student information system, which reduces the need for paperwork and manual processes. Staff can send real-time updates, track engagement, and manage communication all in one place instead of using multiple tools.

Why is the district making this change?

This change will bring all school, district, and classroom communication into one system. This will make it easier for staff to communicate and for families to stay informed.

Remind has been purchased by ParentSquare, and Ada Schools’ Remind account will be deactivated on June 30, 2026. Starting with the 2026–2027 school year, the district will use ParentSquare as its main communication platform, replacing Remind, ClassDojo, and other tools. By moving to ParentSquare, Ada Schools aims to simplify communication, create more consistency, and build stronger connections with families across all schools and classrooms.
