Diane M. Groth
August 30, 1947 – May 6, 2026

Diane Marie Groth, 78, formerly of Findlay passed away after a brief illness May 6, 2026 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was born August 30, 1947 at Bucyrus, Ohio to the late O. Charles and A. Louise (Traxler) Russell. She married Paul James “Jim” Groth on December 22, 1973 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. Surviving is a son, Charles P. (Kimberly) Groth of Bloomville; grandchildren Neil, Cecilia and Jonathan Groth; life-long friend Sandi (Mike) Shutt of Upper Sandusky and the extended Shutt family. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Jim; brother Jeff Russell and sister Vicki Workman.

Diane was a proud alumna of Upper Sandusky High School and Ohio University. She always looked forward to class reunions and kept in touch with many classmates throughout her life. After graduation Diane taught middle school math in Upper Sandusky for several years before joining the math department at the University of Findlay where she continued to teach until her retirement in 2014.

Butterflies, the color purple, scrapbooking, Hallmark movies, and watching her son’s many performances in local community theater were among Diane’s favorites. But most of all Diane found her joy in people. She never met a stranger and took a genuine interest getting to know everyone she met. The family wishes to thank the staff at Courtyard, who provided a wonderful home for Diane over the three years.

Private services will be held with interment to follow in Arcadia Cemetery.
