The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is holding a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast on June 6.

It will be served from 8:00 until 10:30 a.m. in Shelter House 1 of the Mount Gilead State Park, located at 4119 State Route 95 in Mt. Gilead.

This is the first of two pancake breakfasts that will be held this year.

The breakfast is free, but they will be collecting donations for the D. Weston Sherrer Scholarship at Marion Technical College.

Deputy Sherrer was 31 years old when he was killed on May 26, 2025, while responding to a domestic violence call.

Nearly one year after a Morrow County deputy made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting his community, his legacy continues to bring people together and inspire future generations. The parents of Deputy Daniel “Weston” Sherrer are honoring his memory through a scholarship fund with the Marion Technical College Foundation, helping students pursue careers in law enforcement. They are also supporting improvements to the Deputy D. Weston Sherrer Training Center, benefiting cadets in Marion Technical College’s police academy program.

To donate to the fund directly, please visit mtc.edu and designate the Deputy D. Weston Sherrer Scholarship Fund or Training Center.
