William R. Woolley, age 89, of Dunkirk, passed away August 17, 2026, at his residence. He was born November 2, 1936, to the late William Lee and Della Lou (Musgrave) Woolley. Bill married Nancy (Lehman) Woods, and they later divorced. He then married Nola June Ard, and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2025.
He is survived by his four daughters, Kim (Brian Martin) Camper of Forest, Danielle (Travis McBride) Burd of Forest, Jill (Todd) Spurlock of Findlay, and Amy (Matt) Vogel of Forest; grandchildren, Kristin (Jon) Perkins, Kelsie (Andrew) Snook, Kelly (Joe) Weber, Alexa (P.J.) Spayde, Matthew Vogel, Amanda (Jon) Young, Elizabeth Burd, and Ryan Burd; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Camper; brothers, Gordon and Everett Woolley; and sisters, Evelyn McKee and Donna McCloud Shinn.
Bill was the owner and operator of Bill’s SOHIO gas station in Forest, and also worked for UAP in Forest for 42 years. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge in Kenton and VFW Post 1182 in Forest. Bill enjoyed playing cards and trying his luck with lottery scratch-off tickets. He had a special love for cars and enjoyed having a new car each year. Over the years, he also enjoyed
boating and fishing vacations and playing golf, even achieving the memorable accomplishment of a hole-in-one. Bill was an avid follower of Kenton Wildcat football and enjoyed supporting Riverdale High School athletics. He also had a special love for cats. Bill will especially be remembered by his family for his ornery sense of humor and the laughter he brought to those
around him.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m Friday, August 28, 2026, in Hueston Cemetery, Forest, Ohio, with Pastor Mark Ruggles officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin County Humane Society or Wyandot County Humane Society in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home, 301 South Patterson Street, Forest, Ohio 45843.
