Dr. Gary Martin Kinnison passed away peacefully early Friday morning, September 6, 2026, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, surrounded by family. He was born on February 13, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Everett and Irene (Knecht) Kinnison. On July 29, 1972, he married the love of his life, Jane Lake, who survives in Findlay.

Also surviving are his beloved children, Dr. Martin (Amy) Kinnison and Megan (Tim) Collins, and his grandchildren, Madeline, Maddox, Heath, Mary, Irene and Paul. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kinnison.

Gary completed his Bachelor of Agriculture and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He began his 48-year career as a veterinarian working in Findlay for Dr. Becket before moving to Kenton and opening the Kenton Animal Clinic. He was a lifetime member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and as a highly skilled veterinarian, he prided himself on being able to care for all types of animals, from alpacas and cougars to farm animals such as cattle, pigs, and horses, as well as dogs and cats. His compassion and love for animals drove him to be available for his clients day and night, treating them like family.

Gary was dedicated to his work, but in his free time, he loved being outdoors hiking or doing yard work. Gary had a love of firearms and was a lifetime member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He also cherished traveling and spending time with his family.

Funeral services for Gary will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
