Obituary for Paul Eugene Tackett

Per his request, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest at Dunkirk Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Paul Eugene Tackett passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born on February 15, 1945, in Lima to the late Tollie and Nancy (England) Tackett. He married Marilyn Shaw, the love of his life of 61 years, and she survives in Dunkirk.

Also surviving are his children: David (Jennifer) Tackett, Stephanie Klingler, and Jason Tackett; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his brother, Robert Tackett. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony “Buck”, Donald, Buster, and David Tackett; and his sisters, Connie Combs, Nell Miller, Myrtle Miller, Goldie Vogelsong, and Iness Bestman.

Paul proudly served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, earning several medals, including the Purple Heart. He worked as a Foreman at Rockwell and retired after several years of service. A very private man, he enjoyed farm work and being outdoors on his tractor. Most of all Paul truly loved his family!

Memorial donations in Paul’s honor may be made to AMVETS Post 1994.
