Obituary for Dale Born Sherman

Dale Born Sherman, 89, of Kenton, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 22, 2026. He was born to the late Hannah and Jacob Sherman on December 9, 1936, in Kenton. On October 15, 1967, he married Jane Alice McKinley, who preceded him in death on February 4, 2023.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Curt (Tammy) Sherman; his daughter, Jennifer Dale of Kenton; two grandchildren, Jenna LeNee’ (Jacob) Stout and Tye Andrew Joseph Sherman; his brother, Jacob (Dorothy) Sherman; his sister-in-law, Shirley Sherman; his brother-in-law, James Lyle; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses: James, Carl (Roxie), Lester (Marianna), Ralph, Ida Lou, Mae Louise (Harold), Rosa Nell (Emery), Marion Jean, and Vernon (Bea).

Dale was a 1955 graduate of Kenton High School, proudly served in the United States Army stationed in Korea, and was a lifelong farmer. He was a lifetime member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Goshen Grange, Farm Bureau. He was also a board member for the Crippled Children’s Association. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton, with Pastor John Mummert officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
